We saw the signs on the freeway and decided to check it out during a trip across the country with a friend. We were on a schedule but thought we can take an hour or so to check it out. Should have looked up the price before driving out there. Didn’t want to spend $70 (2adults and a dog) and only be there for an hour. We decided to drive through the petrified forest instead for $25 ( about a 30 mile road through the dead forest) and saw many amazing vistas and grand canyon like views. THAT was well worth it. Awesome! We couldn't get the guided tour because of high winds so I can't comment on that. But if you want to spend a couple of hours to see a one of a kind phenomena, go to the crater. Yeah it's a few dollars and overpriced, but if you can save up some money, I recommend it. I don't need to ever go back but I'm glad I went. Read Less

Has multiple levels to view the crater from and an interactive museum to experience the phenomenon. Cafe on site as well. Lots of parking. Accessible walkways for most ability groups Read Less
